The road to Read Team

January 1, 2017 Posted by Kristine Blog

Dyslexia brings challenge, discovery and in many ways joy to my own family – which is a considerable turn around from the helplessness, overwhelm and frustration we first felt when that “something’s-not–quite-right” learning difference was finally named.

I very quickly became passionate about wanting to help others avoid some of the bumps and bruises we’ve encountered along this all-too-often confusing winding road. With the encouragement and support of my family, I started Read Team.

If you’ve not been exposed to dyslexia – and the impact it can have on a student’s education and life – getting up to speed can get your head spinning. There are a mountain of questions to be asked and answered – especially since dyslexia impacts everyone uniquely, and there’s never just one answer.

Where do you turn for information? How reputable is the information you’re getting? What’s your plan of action? How do you address your child’s specific needs with the resources you have available? What’s fact and what’s fiction? And the big question: Why didn’t I know about this before?

With those questions in mind – and more – I’ll do my best to stay up to date with information and news  you can use here on the Read Team blog.
